How to measure

Gridfinity is a grid system, not a measure-your-own-drawer tool: pick width and depth in 42mm grid units and height in 7mm units to match whatever baseplate or other Gridfinity bins you already have. If you’re starting from scratch, measure the drawer or shelf, divide by 42mm, and round down to fit.

FAQ

Will this fit my other Gridfinity bins and baseplates? The base and stacking lip follow the public Gridfinity specification (see the Licenses page for the source and license). Print one and check fit before committing to a big batch — see the print-fit note on this page’s checklist.

What’s the difference between compartments and dividers? Compartments (X) and Compartments (Y) split the bin’s interior into a grid of equal pockets; divider thickness controls how thick the walls between them are.

Can I get an exact CAD file, not just STL? STEP export lands in a later phase for generators that support it.
