How to measure
Pick width and depth in 42mm grid units to match the bins you’ll put on it. For a drawer, measure the usable interior and turn on Pad to drawer size to fill the rest with a plain border instead of leaving a gap.
Print settings
- Orientation: print flat, grid-side up. No supports needed.
- Bed size: if the baseplate is bigger than your printer’s bed, turn on Split to fit bed and set your bed’s usable size — the baseplate splits into full-unit pieces that lay next to each other once assembled.
- Magnets: pause-and-insert during the print, or press-fit after — holes are sized for a 6x2mm magnet by default.
FAQ
Will this fit bins from other Gridfinity generators? The base profile follows the public Gridfinity specification (see the Licenses page for the source and license). Print a small test piece and check fit with a known-good bin before a big multi-plate print.
Do the split pieces attach to each other? Split pieces are printed and placed edge to edge on the same surface — they aren’t fastened to one another; each piece’s own base structure and any magnet holes work exactly like the un-split baseplate’s.
